In this workshop you will an introduction into shamanic healing and Reiki, the nature of the light body, the 7 main chakras, and how to connect with the universal life energy that allows healing to happen.
Shamanic Reiki is a practice that combines the wisdom of the shamanic traditions with the techniques of Reiki healing. It is beautiful way to awaken and develop your healing abilities. We will learn how to connect to this source of universal healing energy in order to awaken our own inner healer. We will go through four attunements as well as teachings and corresponding hands-on exercises during the workshop. Shamanic Reiki will focus on building our relationship with energy and how healing works within a shamanic framework.
Brooke and Leona have been studying shamanic healing with Maestro Manuel Rufino, the elder and guide of the Golden Drum community for over 8 years. We are very grateful to be integrating some of these shamanic practices and teachings into the practice of Reiki energy healing. We believe that the integration of these practices has helped us to develop a greater understanding of the nature of health, healing and well-being.
In Reiki Level I you will learn:
- The history & the 5 principles of Reiki
- An introduction to the Chakra systems and Energy Centers
- How to treat yourself with Reiki
- Hand placements for Self-Treatment
- How to identify and remove energy blocks
- How to give Reiki to others: human, animal, plant, mineral Introduction to the 4-elements and the Medicine Wheel
- How to build and activate an altar for healing
- An introduction into how to work with crystals and sound for healing
Upon completion of the course you will receive a Shamanic Reiki Level 1 Attunement and Certificate from the Usui System of Natural Healing.

Brooke Gillespie is an active member of Golden Drum and a student of Maestro Manuel Rufino learning traditional shamanic native healing ways and studying the sacred traditions of humanity. Brooke has over 13 years of healing experience and received her Reiki Master certificate in 2010. Brooke is a Pleiadian Lightwork energy healer, sound healer, and has been leading workshops, sound baths, meditations and Reiki certifications in NYC for over 9 years. She incorporates energy, sound, and crystal work into her healing and she creates conscious healing music through various musical projects including Pink Sun and Dream Seed. She is available for healing sessions and workshops in the NYC area, U.S. and internationally.
Leona Walker is an active member of Golden Drum and a student of Maestro Manuel Rufino learning traditional shamanic native healing ways and studying the sacred traditions of humanity. Leona has been practicing Reiki for over 15 years and received her Reiki Master certificate in 2001. She Leona incorporates the visual element into her healing and creates sacred art and mandalas under the name Sacred Walker. She is a member of the shamanic sound healing group Dream Seed. Leona is available for private Reiki healing sessions in the NYC area, U.S. and internationally.
