Ancestral Art Workshop with the Huichol (Wixárika) Tradition
$44.00
Beaded sculptures are objects of sacred art with deep significance in Wixárika life. Made by pressing brightly colored beads into beeswax spread over symbolic items, these artworks are often placed on altars for protection of the family. They are also left in sacred locations as offerings and while on pilgrimage. They are made in prayer for the well-being of family and community.
In this workshop, you will learn about the role of these altar items in the Wixárika cosmovision, and make your own using materials provided by the workshop.
