Cacao Ceremony with Dream Seed, Golden Drum Members and Honored Guests from Amerikua and the Sacred Traditions of Humanity.
In celebration of the Golden Drum’s 15 Year Anniversary, we open our doors to gather in prayer with the support of representatives from the Haudenasuane, Lakota, Mi'kmaq, Mapuche, Mayan and Malian traditions.
For the past 5,478 days, (15 years!) we have served our community by gathering some of the most extraordinary hearts and minds of our time, providing programming to uplift culture, nature, families and neighborhoods. We’ve hosted elders, leaders, teachers and visionaries spanning nations, countries and continents to acknowledge the integrity, beauty and contributions offered by the sacred traditions of humanity and to celebrate unity in diversity.
With gratitude and with the heart opening medicine of Cacao, we gather around the altar once again to be joyful and unify our prayer for 15+ more years around this living altar of life we call the Golden Drum.
About the Cacao Ceremony:
The cacao ceremony is a sacred gathering in which participants gather to connect to their hearts and experience new life through the healing qualities of cacao.
A plant revered by the indigenous people of the Americas, cacao has received widespread recognition through its usage as the key ingredient in chocolate. For the Mayan people, cacao is utilized as a rebirthing medicine, helping people get rid of negativity, release emotional suffering, and experience universal love.
Preparation for a Cacao Ceremony*:
Cacao contains caffeine, so please do NOT DRINK COFFEE or any other stimulants at least 3 hours before the ceremony. Please also refrain from using drugs or alcohol. We recommend that you do not eat for at least three hours prior to the ceremony. Dress in comfortable loose clothing.
