Alash Ensemble is a trio of internationally recognized master throat singers and instrumentalists from Tuva, a republic in the heart of Central Asia. They are renowned for Tuvan throat singing (khöömei), an extraordinary vocal tradition in which a singer brings out multiple tones and harmonics within a single voice. Rooted in the musical traditions of Central Asian nomadic culture, Alash honors the music of their homeland while expanding it through influences from jazz, bluegrass, Eastern European folk music, and other contemporary styles.
Kevin Nathaniel and Dream Seed come together for a collaborative performance rooted in rhythm, improvisation, and the transformative possibilities of sound. Kevin Nathaniel is a master percussionist and mbira player whose music draws upon African and diasporic traditions, while Dream Seed creates immersive sound journeys using instruments and musical traditions from around the world. Together, they weave percussion, voice, melody, and meditative sound into a spontaneous musical experience that invites both deep listening and connection.

About Alash Ensemble
Alash Ensemble are internationally acclaimed masters of Tuvan throat singing (xöömei), a remarkable vocal technique that allows a singer to produce multiple pitches at the same time. Trained in the traditional music of Tuva from childhood, the trio combines extraordinary vocal techniques with indigenous instruments such as the igil, doshpuluur, xomus, and kengirge. While deeply rooted in Tuvan musical heritage, Alash subtly incorporates contemporary influences, including complex harmonies, Western instruments, and modern song forms, creating music that is both innovative and unmistakably Tuvan.
Alash has toured extensively throughout the United States and internationally, earning acclaim from audiences and critics alike; The Washington Post called their music “utterly stunning.” Known for adventurous collaborations, they have performed with artists ranging from the legendary Sun Ra Arkestra to Béla Fleck & the Flecktones, appearing on the Grammy-winning album Jingle All the Way. About Kevin Nathaniel
Kevin Nathaniel was born and raised in Detroit, Michigan—Motown and one of America’s great musical centers. Surrounded by extraordinary musicians and music from an early age, his own path as a musician began near the end of college, when encounters with music from Africa inspired him to begin playing, studying, and building instruments.
Kevin’s journey began with the mbira, also known as the kalimba, particularly the mbira traditions of Southern Africa and Zimbabwe. Learning to build and play these instruments opened the door to a lifelong exploration of music and an ever-expanding range of instruments and traditions. The mbira remains at the heart of his musical path, serving as the foundation for his work as a multi-instrumentalist, instrument maker, performer, and musical explorer.

Dream Seed is a sound healing collective created by members of Golden Drum, Sacred Arts Research Foundation, and Didge Project. As students of Maestro Manuel Rufino, the members of Dream Seed are dedicated to the study and preservation of the sacred traditions of humanity and the continued exploration of sound as a healing modality of the Aquarian Age. Dream Seed studies and works with indigenous and traditional elders, continuously seeking to expand their knowledge of sound and healing as universal methods of cultivating harmony, peace, and well-being.
